Hairdressing - Year 2

This is a one year course which involves on and off-the-job training in Hairdressing. This will include 3 days College training in the fully-equipped Hairdressing Salon. Students who successfully complete this course may gain placement as a 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice in a high-profile hairdressing salon.

Awarding Body:

Department of Education & Science - Senior Trade Hairdressing Examination.
City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee (CDVEC) - Men's Hairdressing and Creative Hairstyling
FETAC Modules - Level 5 and 6

All FETAC awards are in the process of being redeveloped. At present, all information on this website is accurate but slight changes may be made to some awards to reflect these developments in the year of entry.

Career Opportunities:

On successful completion of this course students may gain placement as a Junior Stylist. Students can progress to further Hairdressing training in Crumlin College with Evening Part-time Courses - Short Courses for Updating of Hairdressing Skills & the 2-Year Masters Diploma Course which is certified by the Irish Hairdressers Federation (IHF).

Possible Job Opportunities - Qualified Hairdresser, Salon Instructor, Salon Manager/Owner, Company Technician, Artisitc Director, Theatre/Fashion Photographic Styling.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

Successful completion of Hairdressing Award (FETAC Level 5) or students who have successfully completed Foundation & Junior Trade Day Release Courses. All entry is subject to interview.
