James Carberry
  Hotel, Catering & Tourism - 1986  


Since leaving Crumlin College, James has built a wealth of experience and acclaim in Catering. It all began in Crumlin College where James was awarded the 'Student of the Year'. He continued his training in Dublin Institute of Technology and then gained experience as a Commis Chef in various establishments.
He was the winner of the prestigious Roux Diner Scholarship - one of many professional achievements throughout his career. James is presently lecturing in Dundalk Institute of Technology in Culinary Arts.











Sandra Connolly
  Hairdressing - 1990  


Sandra started her career in Hairdressing in Crumlin College & completed her Hairdressing Apprenticeship in a hair salon in Lucan. Presently, Sandra is in partnership with Elizabeth and runs a salon in Palmerstown Village. She is currently studying on a part-time basis on the 2nd Year of the Masters Diploma Course in the College.
Having successfully completed her Junior & Senior Trade Certificates in Crumlin College - she has encouraged the Juniors in her salon to study these courses part-time at the College.

"I found the combined College & Salon training gave me confidence & I learned a lot about the Industry. I am still studying as I am completing the Masters Diploma Course in the Evening School & I hope that in the future I will be able to teach Hairdressing."

Noreen Duffy
  Hairdressing - 1982  

Noreen started her career in Hairdressing in Crumlin College by sucessfully completing her Junior & Senior Trade Certificates. She later went on to achieve the Masters Diploma in Hairdressing certified by the Irish Hairdressing Federation (IHF). With the good training received from the salon in which she worked and the Crumlin College qualifications, Noreen progressed to become a professional hair stylist. During this time she attended many short courses in David Marshall, Frank Hession, The Witches Hut, Hair Craft, Tressme & Crumlin College. Noreen is now the owner of her own Hair & Beauty Salon which has been successfully trading for 10 years. Presently, she has five members of staff, two of which are attending Crumlin College, with great success.

"There is no doubt that the training received in the early years of hairdressing is most important and anybody embarking on such a career needs to start with a sound & professional foundation in their trade. The knowledge, which is acquired in Crumlin College, provides a springboard from which stylists may go forward & develop his or her skills in whichever direction they desire."

Edel Daly
  Sports Therapy - 1997  


Edel successfully completed the 2 Year Course in Sports Therapy in June 1999. She applied through UCCA for a place on the B.Sc. Hons. Sport Therapy Degree in the University of Luton and was successful in achieving a place.

As a result of the content of the Sports Therapy Course in Crumlin College, she will only have to complete another year and a half to obtain her degree. As part of the Course, Edel completed work experience with Dunboyne Herbs Ltd. and Sean Boylan and gained a full-time position with them. Presently, she is attending The University of Luton and will be studying for her finals next year. Edel also works with the Meath Football Team as a Massage Therapist.

Mary Levis
  Advanced Computer Applications - 2001  


Mary came to Crumlin College as a mature student and gained direct entry to this 2nd Year Course based on her prior experience. She successfully completed the course and has just completed her 1st Year at Dublin City University (DCU) which is part of a 4-Year Degree Course in Computer Applications.

"Crumlin College is renowned for it's welcome to mature students and I found the teachers & staff to be very helpful, approachable & friendly. The College played a big part in preparing me for my progression to DCU. I can honestly say that any Course studied at Crumlin College is a valuable & necessary asset for progression to a Third Level College or University & for success in your chosen career."
