Advertising & Graphic Design

This one year course is ideally suited to artistic students who have a creative flair and are interested in pursuing a career in Graphic Design or Advertising. It combines essential drawing skills with the use of modern creative media applications such as InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Illustrator. This is a practical course providing students with the technical skills necessary for a career in Graphic Design. Students supplement their studies one day a week with work experience in advertising agencies or other related areas.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent standards of education. A proven ability in Art would be an advantage & students should have an interest in art & design. Exemptions may be granted to mature students.

Creative Media

This course helps students acquire and practice a wide-ranging and essential creative media skill set. Learners become accomplished in using Adobe Creative Cloud applications while also developing their creative ability using computers. At the end of the year, students will produce websites and printed documents. This course is largely portfolio based. Students supplement their studies with work experience in a relevant area.

Career Opportunities

Learners who successfully complete the course will have acquired a comprehensive skill set in a range of market leading creative media applications. They will be prepared for immediate entry into the employment market in creative media-related areas such as:
