Open Learning Centre

We are 20 years old!

The Open Learning Centre offers flexible and affordable computer training that enables clients to progress at their own pace & in their own time. A new client can discuss their goals with a tutor and set up an individual training plan to meet their needs. Training is delivered through the use of easy to follow instructions, which include frequent revision exercises, to reinforce learning and build confidence. Tutors are on hand at all times to answer questions, provide support and offer guidance throughout the training process. Training sessions are by appointment only.

SKILLS TO ADVANCE

If your job is changing or you want to learn new skills. Skills To Advance aims to equip employees with the skills to progress in their current job, or to take advantage of new job opportunities.

International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL). Certification awarded by the Irish Computer Society, proves that a learner has the digital skills to work to a recognised standard. It equips the learner with practical computer and Internet skills and is recognised by employers worldwide.

Training is delivered through online live sessions.  Tutors are available to answer questions, provide support and offer guidance throughout the training process. Support material and practical exercises will be provided.  Contact the Centre for further details.

Other Computer Training Available

We offer Pre-ICDL computer training to both Beginner and Intermediate learners.

Pre-ICDL Modules

Clients may choose from the list of introductory modules below:

Keyboard training available upon request. Upon completion of the Pre-ICDL course clients may progress on to ICDL training. ICDL packages available. Contact the Centre for further details.

QQI Level 4

Part-time training available with flexible hours, leading to QQI Level 4 Minor Awards. Candidates may choose from the list below.  Suitable for adults and school leavers wishing to access further education. Training commences in September.

Course placement is subject to interview.

Progression

Successful students may progress on to QQI Level 5 Courses within Crumlin College or other Colleges of Further Education. Upon completion, candidates may also seek employment within the administration sector.
